India Club and the IIT Alumni Association, Singapore are delighted to launch the scintillating second book authored by Sanjeev Sanyal, a Singapore resident and long-standing India Club member. “Land of the Seven Rivers: A Brief History of India’s Geography” is a brilliant new look at India’s history, with sparkling new insights on the ecological causes of the demise of India’s first urban civilisation, the close links between that and the Zoroastrian religion, but most of all the enduring civilisational unity that has bound India together through four millennia.

Sanjeev Sanyal is an economist and environmentalist based in Singapore
and is currently Deutsche Bank’s Global Strategist. A Rhodes Scholar
and Eisenhower Fellow, he was named a “Young Global Leader 2010″ by
the World Economic Forum. He has also been an Adjunct Fellow of the
Institute of Policy Studies (Singapore) and a Visiting Fellow at
Oxford University. He had also served on the boards of AFPRO, India’s
largest food-security agency, and of Urban Age at LSE. Sanjeev
attended Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and St. John’s College,
Oxford.

Admission: Free for India Club and IITAA members. $35 for non-members. Lunch will be served.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase ($30) after the launch, and the author will autograph copies.
